| Encoding is done for each format needed and a signal is prepared for every network/operator. The most efficient way is to prepare one high bit-rate “Master Signal” for all the needs of TV service providers (networks). The “Master Signal” enables further transcoding to the required format, if necessary. This can be done by us or by the target TV service provider (for example, a cable or IPTV operator). Signals in this format are, as a rule, also accepted by bigger terrestrial and/or satellite operators for re-encoding because they do not cause a significant loss in video quality. As an example following encoding formats can be prepared: | ![]() |

“Master Signal” in SD:

“Master Signal” in HD:

The “Master Signal” is to be used for further re-encoding (f.x. for DTT networks). At hand-over, it can also be decoded back to HD or SD-SDI with DVB subtitles burn-in or without. High-quality downscaling option is available.
For direct remultiplexing for relatively small cable or IPTV networks, the following encoding formats can be prepared:
“End-user ready Signal” in SD:

“End-user ready Signal” in HD:

The “End-user ready Signal” is to be used without further re-encoding (f.x. for cable or satellite networks). Specific encoding formats and parameters depend on the needs of operators, so these are agreed upon separately.
A cost-effective alternative to satellite distribution: Reliable and cost-effective delivery of HD/SD channels (SDI or ASI) from Levira’s Play-out Center to all major head-ends in Scandinavia and the Baltic states. CEE markets are under development.Allowing full localization also for smaller markets:
Encoded signals are delivered to destination networks determined by the customer. Delivery is done over Levira’s Media Distribution network based on fiber connections. Levira’s media network currently includes connections from Levira facilities in Tallinn to Riga (Latvia), Vilnius (Lithuania), Helsinki (Finland), Stockholm (Sweden), Oslo (Norway), Frankfurt and Munich (Germany), Madrid (Spain). PoPs in London, Paris, Bratislava, Warsaw, Budapest are being prepared. Other locations can easily be added, if necessary. Levira PoPs are set up at locations that have good connectivity to local networks. The services mentioned above are automatically protected with the annual SLA of 99.98%. In Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Norway and Finland, Levira can arrange fiber delivery to all major pay-TV networks. The same is under development in CEE countries. |
